Choose to renew your tabs on-line with Tri-Cities Licensing Kennewick or Richland. 3 ways to serve:

1. Choose to have tabs and registrations mailed to you.

2. Choose on-line and pickup your tabs through our drive thru at Kennewick or in-store at Richland.

3. If you do not have on-line capability, call us and we will provide mail or drive thru service.

TITLE TRANSACTIONS

Title transactions walk-in's available during normal hours from 8:00 to 5:30 Monday-Friday

and 9:00 to 3:00 on Saturdays.

DISABLED PARKING AND PERMITS

Disabled Parking:

To apply for a WA disabled parking application, you need your physician to complete a Disabled Parking Application for Individuals. Along with this application, the physician office will need to provide you with a prescription authorizing this privilege; if they do not have prescriptions, they can write this authorization on an office letterhead form.
Bring in both Disabled Parking Application for Individuals and prescription or physician office letterhead into our office to be issued disabled parking placards.

Permits:

Trip Permits:
- A trip permit allows a vehicle that is not currently licensed to be operated on state roads for 3 consecutive days. No more than 3 permits can be used on the same vehicle in a 30-day period.
- Trip permits can be used for commercial vehicles to increase gross weight up to 80,000.
- Trip permits fee $33.00

Transit Permits:
- A Transit Permit is used if you are taking your vehicle to Washington State Patrol.
- You make an appointment with WSP; once you have an appointment, you can come into our office with your vehicle information, and a Transit Permit can be issued for 2 days.
- Transit Permit fee: $8.00

FLEET VEHICLES

Vehicle owners with more than 5 vehicles registered in the same exact name format can apply for a Fleet Identification Number. Vehicles put in a Fleet have ONE expiration date, rather than multiple expiration dates per vehicle.

Regular Fleet:
- Vehicles can be put on a Regular Fleet if they have 5 or more vehicles in exact name format.

Permanent Fleet
- Vehicles can be put on a Permanent Fleet if they have 50 or more vehicles in the exact name format.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION (TABS/TAGS/STICKERS)

Car tabs can be renewed in person at any of our 2 locations, by mail, or online.

In person: Bring in either your registration or license plate number. If you don’t have either, don’t worry we can look up your information with your WA driver’s license.

By mail: Submit a copy of your renewal notice or vehicle information (license plate or VIN #) along with a check/money order made payable to Department of Licensing or DOL

WA Title Transfers: We will need,

WA Title properly released, if title is lost a Notarized Affidavit of Loss
Bill of Sale

New to Washington: We will need,

Your Out-of-State title
Mileage if 9 years or newer
If more than one owner on title, only one registered owner needs to be present to transfer to WA

New to Washington, vehicle being financed: We will need,

Copy of your title (You can contact your finance company & request a copy to be faxed/emailed to our office)

DUPLICATE WA TITLES

To apply for a duplicate WA title;

ALL registered owners must sign an Affidavit of Loss or they have to be present in the office.
Duplicate titles are $35.50 and will be processed and mailed to you within 4–6 weeks.

Need a DUPLICATE SAME-DAY TITLE?

ALL registered owners must sign an Affidavit of Loss or they have to be present in the office.
Same-Day Titles are an Extra $50.00

GROSS WEIGHT-TONNAGE

Vehicles with a Gross Weight of 16,000< are required to have a DOT number
Vehicles with a Gross Weight of 55,000< are subject to Heavy Vehicle Use Tax and have to present a Heavy Vehicle Use Tax Form (2290) at the time of gross weight purchase. (We can file a copy in our office to simplify the process)
